Fry Pan Reviews

This place is a solid option for takeout or delivery. I've tried several dishes, and it's always been pretty tasty--not the best food I've ever had, but definitely good. Occasionally, the chicken can be a bit dry, and I've had a few pieces that were uneditable, but nothing too serious. I usually order from here about once a week for lunch on DoorDash, and the experience has been consistently reliable. I've only been to the restaurant once for pickup, and it's your typical storefront Chinese takeout spot. It's clean and has a few places to sit, but it's definitely geared more towards takeout than dining in. Overall, it's a convenient and dependable choice when you're craving Chinese food.

Good stuff! Fast take out. Orange chicken, roast porpork w/ chinese veg & wonton soup... Thanks Fry Pan!

bag was nicely packed with no leaks. First thing i noticed in my egg foo young was that it was loaded with onions. Perhaps too many. But at least they were cooked. The dish itself was good. Probably because it had a lot of oil. It looked a little brownish. I thought it was burnt, but it wasn't. It was good. There were few shrimp in it. The brown sauce that came with it tasted a little like soap, so i didn't use it. The hard noodles that were in a little bag seemed stale. The rice tasted good flavored with oil. Got napkins, spoons and forks but no fortune cookies. Didn't see it on menu as separate item. Would go back again.

Spectacular Chinese food, I'm blown away I had the Fried Garlic Tofu and the side of garlic broccoli. I must say and I'm a big traveler that this was the best Chinese I've had in years if not ever and this is a take out joint. The atmosphere is dull there is basically no atmosphere there are only two tables they still think Covid is happening, but who cares when the food is so amazing. I'm my opinion it's worth going out your way for for takeout. I hope it's good if you decide to go.

Ordered three combo meals. It was ok. Not bad but the price. Good size servings. The ribs are not the kind that fall off the bone. They forgot to send sauce for the sweet & sour. Sesame chicken was good so I'll give it 4 stars.
Fry Pan
Nestled on 1099 Old Country Rd Riverhead, NY, Fry Pan is where local charm meets sizzling comfort food. Whether you’re craving a hearty breakfast, a classic American lunch, or a home-style dinner, this cozy diner draws in both travelers and hometown regulars searching for a satisfying meal in Riverhead.
Fry Pan Riverhead delivers satisfying meals with a hometown feel
There’s something about Fry Pan Riverhead that makes you feel like you’ve walked into a familiar kitchen. The scent of sizzling bacon, brewed coffee, and golden pancakes greets you at the door. The staff greets you with genuine smiles, not rehearsed greetings, and the booths are usually filled with families, seniors, and even solo diners with newspapers in hand. This isn’t just a place to eat—it’s a place to return to.
The menu is a throwback to classic diner culture, but with subtle local touches. Think buttermilk pancakes piled high, house-made burgers with crispy fries, grilled cheese sandwiches oozing with cheddar, and chicken fried steak that’s perfectly seasoned. People come back again and again for the weekend breakfast specials, and if you’re a fan of eggs done every way imaginable, this is the place for you.
What sets Fry Pan apart isn’t just the food—it’s the consistency. You don’t need to second-guess your order because it tastes the same every time, and that’s a rare kind of comfort. From early-morning regulars to late lunch crowds, the buzz around the diner’s reviews points to one thing: dependability, flavor, and that all-too-rare feeling of being known by name.
Explore a menu packed with diner classics and local favorites
A standout quality of Fry Pan is the depth of its menu. It’s not a novelty-focused spot; it’s grounded in American classics. You’ll find eggs Benedict that never disappoints, corned beef hash that’s crisped just right, and for those watching carbs, there’s a grilled salmon platter with steamed veggies that locals recommend for a lighter choice.
Kids aren’t left out either. The kid’s menu is surprisingly thoughtful—mini pancakes shaped like animals, mac ‘n’ cheese that’s creamy without being mushy, and chicken tenders that are actually crispy instead of soggy. For those who love to brunch, the chicken and waffles with maple butter syrup is a weekend favorite that balances savory and sweet effortlessly.
And let’s not forget the desserts. Homemade pies change with the season—apple crumb in the fall, key lime in the summer—and the milkshakes are thick enough to need a spoon. Whether you’re coming for the all-day breakfast or a slice of something sweet, Fry Pan’s menu lives up to its name: every dish comes out hot from the pan, fresh and full of flavor.
Visit a location that brings warmth to Riverhead’s dining scene
Positioned on a well-traveled road, Fry Pan in Riverhead is more than just a pit stop—it’s a local fixture. If you’re driving through Suffolk County or spending the weekend exploring the East End, this is one of those spots that feels like a small-town gem tucked in plain sight.
The interior’s no-frills charm—checkered tiles, red vinyl seats, and vintage wall clocks—keeps the focus where it should be: on the food and the people. Don’t expect trendy décor or complicated themes. Expect full plates, real conversations, and coffee refills before you even ask.
Plenty of regulars say it’s become a “third place”—not work, not home, but something in between. From construction crews on lunch breaks to retirees reminiscing over meatloaf and mashed potatoes, this location pulses with a quiet, comforting rhythm.
Parking is easy, the hours are generous, and the team knows how to keep things moving during rush. But even when it’s packed, they’ll make you feel like you’re the only table that matters.

One diner put it simply: “Great food, fair prices, zero attitude.” Others praise the way staff accommodate dietary needs without fuss or judgment. There’s even talk about how the owner occasionally walks through the dining area, checking in like you’re a guest in their house.
It’s not trying to be a five-star bistro or a trend-chasing brunch joint. Fry Pan is exactly what it says it is—a classic diner that gets the basics absolutely right. And sometimes, that’s all you really want.
So next time you're in Riverhead and wondering where to eat, remember this spot on Old Country Rd. Fry Pan isn’t just a meal—it’s a piece of small-town New York hospitality, cooked to order and served with pride.
